Basic connection

Connection to a Bnix location

Every BNIX location has an Ethernet switch which allows connection to the BNIX infrastructure. The switches are connected to one another by Ethernet technology over a dark fibre connection. This uses two lines of 10 Gbit/s each.

Connection to a BNIX participant

You first establish your location, then the type of connection. The ports can be FastEthernet, GigEthernet or 10 Gbit/s Ethernet. BNIX has two VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks): one for unicast and one for multicast. Both are suitable for IPv4 and IPv6.
